20th January 2025, Skopje – Today, Ministry of Finance has repaid the Eurobond issued in 2018, amounting to EUR 500 million.

“Today, we have fully repaid the Eurobond issued in 2018 in the amount of EUR 500 million, falling due to be repaid on 18th January 2025. For the purpose of repaying this Eurobond with the lowest possible costs, Loan Facility Agreement was signed with the Hungarian Export-Import Bank. As a result of the terms and conditions, as per which these funds were extended, budget savings on the basis of both interests and fees, were generated. We will keep pursuing policies in view of regularly and timely settling the liabilities and providing funds under the most favorable terms and conditions,” Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska said, thereby adding that liquid and stable public finances mark the onset of 2025, thus providing for settling the liabilities on a regular basis, and in a timely manner.

Funds for servicing this liability were provided from the Hungarian Export-Import Bank under favourable terms and conditions with a 3.25% interest, 15-year repayment period and 3-year grace period.

So far, the country has issued 9 Eurobonds, six out of which have already been repaid, with another 3 Eurobonds issued in 2020, 2021 and 2023, falling due to be repaid in the next years, totaling EUR 1.9 billion.
