14th October 2020, Skopje – Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi officially met North Macedonia’s President Stevo Pendarovski. All economic challenges we face amid global pandemic, were discussed at the meeting.

– Realization of infrastructure projects, as well as the continuous implementation of measures undertaken to the end of supporting sustainable and inclusive growth, are crucial in conditions when we face the biggest economic crisis ever by far, being caused by COVID-19, Minister underlined. He thereby stressed that projects, being crucial for the growth of the country, had to be prioritized, and that the ministries, being implementing agencies of the capital projects, must plan their implementation on quarterly basis rather than the so-far annual planning, as part of the medium-term budget planning strategy.

During the meeting, Besimi also informed the President on the Supplementary Budget, as well as the fourth set of anti-crisis measures aimed at providing support to the private sector and the citizens, as part of the actions the Government undertakes so as to cope with the health and the economic crisis.
