State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance

Andriana Matlioska, PhD, holds the position of State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of North Macedonia. For over a decade, she has gained a professional experience in public finance, banking, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

She embarked on her career at the Ministry of Finance in early 2015, holding several key positions that involved coordinating the processes in the field of the financial sector, oversight of financial operations of public enterprises, companies and agencies, along with budgetary and policy-making processes. During the period 2021 –2024, she acted as Chief Compliance Officer, Data Protection Officer and FATCA Responsible Officer at one of the commercial banks in the country, in charge of regulatory compliance, legal risk management and implementation of international financial standards. In 2024, she returned to the Ministry of Finance as a Special Advisor to the Minister, being shortly thereafter appointed State Secretary.

Matlioska holds a PhD in Law, specializing in commercial and labor law, and she also holds MA degree in Business Law, she has been awarded Specialist Certificate in Corporate Governance and Compliance, in line with the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training.

She is an active member of multiple national boards and committees in the field of financial system and stability, anti-money laundering, public finance management and anti-corruption. By participating in numerous international conferences and forums organized by the World Bank, IMF, OECD and the European Union, she has provided a valuable input to strengthening both financial governance and international cooperation.

With her academic expertise and extensive practical experience in the financial sector, Andriana Matlioska, PhD, plays a major role in fostering transparency and accountability, while also promoting sustainable financial development in the Republic of North Macedonia.
