5th October 2026, Skopje - Public Finance Academy Department within the Ministry of Finance organized an online training session today on “Risk Management”, designed for public sector employees, focused on strengthening their professional knowledge and practical skills in risk identification, assessment and management.
The training was delivered by Mite Mitevski, Head of the Department for Central Harmonization of the Internal Financial Control System in the Public Sector, who presented the key principles and stages of the risk management process, with special focus on timely identification of risks, their analysis and assessment, as well as implementation and monitoring of effective risk management measures.
Participants gained insight into the practical aspects of risk management and the importance of putting in place an adequate institutional mechanisms to timely identify, assess and address the risks. Particular attention was given to the integration of the risk management into the processes of planning, decision-making and pursuing the institutional goals.
Effective risk management is the cornerstone of the internal financial control system, contributing to stronger institutional performance, greater accountability and responsibility, as well as more efficient use of public funds. Timely identification of potential risks enables the institutions to undertake adequate measures and minimize their impact on the achievement of the objectives.
By delivering training programs of this kind, the Public Finance Academy remains committed to strengthening the professional capacities in the public sector, while creating conditions for a continuous development of the employees’ knowledge, skills and competences.
Special emphasis is placed on the development of knowledge and skills in areas that directly contribute to sound public finance management, stronger financial responsibility, greater transparency and improved efficiency of the institutions.
The “Risk Management” training is part of the Academy’s program for continuous professional development and further strengthening of the public finance management system.
