2nd June 2026, Skopje - Today, the Ministry of Finance paid out EUR 327.9 million (EUR 316.3 million as principal and EUR 11.6 million as interest), thus fully repaying the 2020 Eurobond, totaling EUR 700 million.
The Government, i.e. the Ministry of Finance, provided the funds by issuing a Eurobond in the course of January 2026. In February 2026, EUR 383.7 million was early repaid, with the remaining Eurobond amount to holders who did not accept early repayment in February, repaid today.
“By paying out EUR 327.9 million, the EUR 700 million Eurobond, issued in 2020, has been fully repaid, as part of the debt liabilities that we, as a Ministry of Finance, repay timely and consistently. Since taking office in the second half of 2024, we repaid EUR 786 million in debt liabilities. Throughout 2025 and 2026, EUR 2.198 billion and EUR 1.571 billion was repaid respectively, with the total for the entire period reaching EUR 4.556 billion”, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, highlighted.
Ministry of Finance pursues a prudent and consistent approach in managing the public debt. The early repayment of the Eurobond resulted in budget savings of EUR 3.2 million. The commitment to prudent public debt management will persist, ensuring timely financing of the Government’s needs at the lowest possible costs.
