Ministry of Finance is overseeing the reconstruction of Polyclinic Idadija — an investment worth over Denar 31 million

24th July 2026, Skopje - Reconstruction of PHI Healthcare Centre Skopje – Polyclinic Idadija has commenced, an investment worth over Denar 31 million. “Reconstruction with Implementing Energy Efficiency Measures of PHI Healthcare Centre Skopje – Polyclinic Idadija” Project is being implemented under the Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project (PSEEP), implemented by the Project Implementation Unit within the Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development – World Bank and the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

The Grant Agreement between Healthcare Centre Skopje and the Ministry of Finance was signed in December 2025, followed by a public procurement procedure. In March this year, the Contract was signed with the selected contractor, worth Denar 31,028,850, marking the start of construction works.

This reconstruction will provide for modern energy-efficient solutions, improved working conditions for medical staff and higher-quality conditions for patients’ stay.

Polyclinic Idadija, built in 1975, had been operating for more than four decades with outdated infrastructure, lacking proper thermal insulation, with dilapidated façade joinery, an inefficient heating system and outdated lighting. Such a condition resulted in high energy consumption and increased operational and maintenance costs of the facility.

The reconstruction is being carried out on the basis of a previously conducted energy audit and a project design, encompassing the installation of a new thermally insulated façade and roof insulation, full replacement of the façade joinery, modernization of the central heating system, installation of energy-efficient LED lighting, as well as reconstruction of the electrical installation.

Project implementation is expected to significantly reduce electricity and thermal energy consumption, lower the facility’s operational costs, improve working conditions for healthcare professionals, and create a higher-quality, safer and more efficient healthcare environment for the thousands of citizens who use the services of Polyclinic Idadija on a daily basis.

The reconstruction of Polyclinic Idadija constitutes a further major investment in the modernization of public healthcare sector and forms part of the broader commitment to advancing public infrastructure through energy‑efficient and sustainable facilities, delivering higher‑quality services to citizens and ensuring more effective use of public funds.
