20th April 2026, Skopje - As part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacities and improve public financial management, a one‑day training on “Securing funds from foreign lenders for the financing of a specific project implemented by a public debt issuer” was held today at the Ministry of Finance.
The training targeted representatives from ministries, public and state‑owned enterprises, actively involved in project preparation, financing, and implementation, with particular emphasis placed on major infrastructure projects.
The objective of the training was to strengthen the capacity of participants to secure favorable, stable, and sustainable sources of financing, in line with public debt legislation. Through an interactive approach, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of financial instruments (loans and grants), gain an understanding of the relevant provisions of the Public Debt Law and develop practical skills in preparing and implementing financial structures for projects.
The training was delivered by Dragana Micevska and Ana Dimitrievska from the International Financial Relations Department, who, through their extensive experience and interactive approach, ensured high‑quality transfer of knowledge and practical skills.
Through a mix of lectures, group work, and interactive discussions, participants developed practical knowledge and skills, enabling them to plan more effectively, negotiate with confidence, and make better use of funds from foreign sources.
The expected outcome of the training is increased efficiency in the process of securing funds, as well as more successful and timely implementation of projects of public interest, thereby directly contributing to economic growth and improved quality of public services.
