13th May 2026, Skopje – Public Finance Academy within the Ministry of Finance successfully conducted a two-day workshop dedicated to controls as part of the Financial Management and Control System (FMC/PIFC), with a particular focus on ex post controls and practical application of control mechanisms.
The workshops were jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and the IPA Project “Support to the Implementation of Public Finance Reform Program 2024–2027”, aimed at providing both strategic and hands-on support to for advancing the sound financial management and control system.
The workshop targeted representatives of central and local-level institutions, offering them the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge in financial management and control through discussions and exchange of experience.
During the workshop, experts Rodney Betorina and Davor Kozina delivered presentations and shared practical insights based on their extensive professional experience in the field.
The workshop also covered topics related to different types of controls, the organization and implementation of ex post controls, the role of financial and other organizational units in the control process, as well as practical examples and experiences from Croatia and the Netherlands.
This workshop contributed to strengthening institutional capacities in support of more efficient implementation of control mechanisms and improved public finance system.
