31st March 2026, Skopje - Global uncertainties and their adverse impact on the Macedonian economy, current economic indicators and the potential measures to be undertaken by the Government in the period ahead, aimed at supporting the private sector and sustaining the economic activity, were the focus of the meeting between the Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, and the President of the Economic Chamber, Branko Azeski, along with the members of the Chamber’s Management Board.
“Against a backdrop of uncertainty, it is essential that all stakeholders unite and play their part in addressing the challenges. In recent months, the Government has provided substantial support by securing funding for investments under favourable conditions, as well as through a transparent and effective process for refunding the solidarity tax to the companies. This Government remains committed to supporting the business sector”, the Minister said, adding that open dialogue on all challenges is essential to provide mutual support.
It was jointly assessed that the Government maintains a constructive partnership with the business community and that the measures adopted thus far in response to the current challenges have been timely. It was also noted that, going forward, depending on the developments, additional targeted measures should be introduced.
“Our cooperation with the Government is at a high level. The issues raised reflect shared challenges, with the solutions to be achieved through joint engagement. The Economic Chamber will continue to make a full contribution to addressing the situation and will reassure the public that we are working together in the interest of all, aimed at preserving the economic stability and navigating these unforeseen developments”, Azeski said.
A key conclusion of the meeting was that the Economic Chamber will submit to the Ministry of Finance a proposed set of targeted measures, based on the needs of the real sector, aimed exclusively at addressing the challenges arising from the global developments.
