Dimitrieska-Kochoska:  Supporting women leaders is an investment in a stronger economy and a more resilient society

24th April 2026, Skopje - Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, last night attended and delivered an address at the jubilee 30th edition of the “Selection of the Most Successful Women Managers”, an event that for three decades has stood as a distinguished platform for celebrating women leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals whose contributions continue to strengthen the Macedonian economy and society.
In her address, the Minister underscored that the event is a recognition of women who, through their dedication, professionalism and vision, create lasting value and leave a profound impact on the business community.

“This celebration is not only the marking of an important jubilee, but also a tribute to women whose work, knowledge and perseverance have left an enduring legacy in the Macedonian economy. Every successful woman is a testament that true achievement stems from hard work, discipline, integrity and courage”, Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska underlined.

She noted that success of women leaders carries specific significance, given their multifaceted roles in both the professional and the personal life, as holders of demanding positions and as sources of support for their families and the community.
The Minister further emphasized that, having come professionally from the private sector, she has a profound understanding of the importance of trust, accountability and results that are built over many years.

“I come from the private sector - a setting where results are measured daily, where trust is earned through work and where accountability is not a formality, but rather a way of operating. It was in the private sector that I shaped my professional values and learned that success is never individual, but the outcome of dedication, team work and clear vision”, the Minister emphasized.

In her address, she further underscored that supporting women in the economy and the entrepreneurship is not only a matter of gender equality, but also a fundamental driver of sustainable economic development.

“Supporting women in the economy, the entrepreneurship and the leadership means advancing economic growth. Every woman who creates new value strengthens companies, enhances competitiveness and builds a more resilient society”, the Minister emphasized.

She also underscored that the institutions have a responsibility to continue fostering an environment where women receive greater support for a professional development, leadership and entrepreneurship, while also serving as role models for the younger generations.

Concluding her remarks, the Minister congratulated the award recipients, wishing them continued success both personally and professionally, highlighting that their achievements stand as an enduring inspiration for the future advancement of women’s leadership in the country.
