2nd April 2026, Skopje - Approximately EUR 20 million has been refunded to 119 companies, having paid these funds to the Budget under the Solidarity Tax Law in 2023.
As of last week, Ministry of Finance, in line with the determined refund method, has begun paying the first portion of the funds paid to the Budget, with total of Denar 1.219 billion being refunded so far.
In 2023, companies paid a total of Denar 3 billion to the Budget, in compliance with the legal provision adopted by the Parliament. Following the annulment of the Law by the Constitutional Court, the Government was obliged to refund the respective funds. Under a transparent process and in cooperation with companies, a refund method was determined, as per which the funds will be refunded in two installments, scheduled for March 2026 and March 2027.
Funds were refunded on the basis of applications submitted by companies to the Public Revenue Office, and pursuant to the applicable Rulebook on the Design and the Contents of the Form on Refund of Tax Overpaid or Erroneously Collected Tax.
