3rd April 2026, Skopje - In the first quarter of 2026, the Budget recorded stable execution and a rise in revenues, reflecting improved collection efficiency.
Total budget revenues amounted to Denar 81.2 billion, increasing by 5.7% compared to the same period in 2025. Total tax revenues picked up by 4.7%, with the highest increase recorded at CIT revenues and PIT revenues, surging by 23.6% and 12.3% respectively.
VAT refund rose by 17.3%, totaling Denar 12 billion being returned to the business sector. In addition, revenues collected on the basis of import duties grew by 9.1%.
Non-tax revenues also recorded a growth of 16.4% in Q1 2026 in relation to the same period last year.
As for the expenditure side, total expenditures amounted to Denar 106.3 billion, increasing by 18.4% compared to Q1 2025. Noteworthy is the substantial growth in capital expenditures, which amounted to Denar 8.3 billion, reflecting a 196.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This underscores the strong momentum in capital investment spending.
The Ministry of Finance will continue to focus on prudent public finance management, fostering the economic activity and advancing priority development projects.
