14th October 2025, Skopje - As of today, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, will take part in the regular Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, taking place this week in Washington.
This visit will serve as an opportunity for the Minister of Finance to present, when meeting top officials from these international financial institutions, the economic and, above all, the fiscal policies pursued by our Government, as well as its efforts to achieve fiscal consolidation, preserve macroeconomic stability and ensure sustainable economic growth. As per the agenda, Minister will hold meetings with Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director, IMF, Jeroen Clicq, Executive Director, IMF, Marnix van Rij, Alternate Executive Director, IMF, Vladyslav Rashkovan, Alternate Executive Director, IMF, Alfred Kammer, Director EUR Department, IMF, and Nick Gigineishvili, Mission Chief for North Macedonia in the IMF. In addition, meetings are scheduled with Antonella Bassani, Regional Vice President, World Bank, Eugene Rhuggenaath, Executive Director, World Bank, Xiaoqing Yu, Regional Director for Western Balkans, Europe and Central Asia Region, and Carole Megevand, Country Manager for Kosovo and North Macedonia, Europe and Central Asia Region.
In Washington, Minister of Finance will also have the opportunity to meet with representatives of the U.S. Department of Treasury, with established mutual cooperation aimed at strengthening institutional efficiency, alongside multiple investors involved in the Eurobond issuance process.
This year’s Annual IMF/WB Meetings are held under the motto “Opportunity in a Time of Change”, thus, allowing the participants, more precisely the finance ministers, the governors, the representatives of the business community, the civil sector, the academicians and similar, to reflect on the ongoing global developments and challenges, while seeking potential solutions therefor. Annual Meeting in Washington were attended by Minister of Finance alongside Governor of the National Bank, Trajko Slaveski.
