12th September, Zagreb - Ministry of Finance’ Delegation, led by the State Secretary, Andriana Matlioska, PhD, held a meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Croatia, Marko Primorac, as part of the two-day working visit to the Republic of Croatia.
The meeting focused on strengthening the cooperation as regards financial markets, with a special focus on exchanging knowledge and experience to bolster Macedonia’s development strategy.
As part of the visit, Macedonian delegation met representatives from multiple institutions, including the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia, the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the Financial Agency (FINA), and the Central Depository and Clearing Company (SKDD). The primary purpose was to gain insight into Croatia’s market infrastructure and identify applicable models in support of development of an efficient and transparent capital market in Macedonia
Strong emphasis was placed on Croatia’s experience in involving citizens through the issuance of government bonds as an exemplary success in encouraging public participation in the capital market.
The forthcoming steps with respect to the cooperation will cover additional workshops and expert support aimed at developing a modern and accessible financial market for the citizens of Macedonia.
