6th October 2026, Skopje - Deputy Minister of Finance, Nikolche Jankulovski participated in the Regional Forum “Beyond Compliance: Financial Reporting for Growth and Jobs”, organized under the REPARIS for SMEs Program delivered by the World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR).
During the opening panel discussion, dedicated to the importance of financial reporting in fostering economic growth and creating jobs, Jankulovski highlighted the commitment of both the Government and the Ministry of Finance to consistent implementation of international financial reporting standards and further enhancement of the legal and institutional framework governing accounting and auditing.
“High-quality financial reporting is not merely a matter of complying with regulatory requirements, but rather a key tool for strengthening investor confidence, enhancing corporate governance, and creating more favourable conditions for investments, improving access to finance and fostering economic growth,” Jankulovski said.
He underlined that a key priority of the Ministry of Finance is to shift from legislative alignment to effective implementation of international standards through strengthened institutional capacity, improved professional competencies, and enhanced supervision and control mechanisms.
Particular emphasis was placed on financial transparency and corporate governance in state-owned enterprises, which should serve as a model of accountable, responsible and efficient management of public resources.
“Reliable, comparable and timely financial information is a prerequisite for sound investment decisions and more efficient capital allocation. Our goal is to build a financial reporting system that creates tangible economic value, particularly by supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises and mobilizing private capital,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.
This Forum provided an opportunity for exchange of experiences and international best practices among representatives of governments, international financial institutions, regulatory bodies and the professional community, with a focus on the role modern financial reporting plays in creating a more favourable investment environment and fostering sustainable economic growth
