3rd October 2025, Skopje - Deputy Minister of Finance, Nikolche Jankulovski participated at the International Conference at the Faculty of Economics within Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Skopje, dedicated to applied economic research and its role in shaping national strategies and policies.
By delivering an address at the panel discussion, covering the topic “Applied Research as a Tool for Formulating Optimal Economic Policies and Sustainable National Development Strategies,” he underlined that the conference served as confirmation that cooperation between the academic community and the institutions is key to overcoming challenges in turbulent times.
“By confronting complex social and economic challenges, the policy-making process requires a rigorous approach firmly anchored in scientific evidence and applied research. The significance of applied research and analysis, along with the need for their further improvement, is unequivocally acknowledged by the Ministry of Finance. Accordingly, we have developed fruitful cooperation with international financial institutions that provide expert guidance, for the purpose of strengthening the Ministry’s analytical and research capacity,” the Deputy Minister stated.
By stressing the importance of cooperation with the academic community, Jankulovski underlined that universities generate knowledge, which must be applied in practice. “Building partnerships with both academic and international community is essential — only through facts and research, we may be able to develop policies that benefit both the citizens and the economy,” Deputy Minister of Finance pointed out.

The panel discussion at the Faculty of Economics was also attended by Minister of Local Government, Zlatko Pirinski, General State Auditor, Maksim Aceski, Academician Prof. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, PhD, Prof. Will Bartlett PhD, and Prof. Iraj Hashi, PhD.
