28th February 2026, Skopje - Ministry of Finance, with support from the International bank for Reconstruction and Development - World Bank, continues to advance energy efficiency across public health institutions and hospitals by making substantial investments in improving their energy performance.
The Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project is implemented through the PIU within the Ministry of Finance and under the component “EE Investments in Central Government Buildings”, i.e. health centres and regional hospitals, totalling EUR 9.21 million, is carried out with the financial support intended for projects for reconstruction of health centres and regional hospitals through energy‑efficiency measures.

This cycle includes energy-efficient reconstruction of 15 public health institutions throughout the country, improving the conditions in the health sector while ensuring long-term energy savings.
Making these investments in the health centers contributes to energy savings by reducing the energy consumption, lower operating costs and better quality conditions for both the patients and the staff.
The Ministry of Finance remains committed to providing stable financial support and fostering partnerships that deliver long-term benefits to the community, promoting energy efficiency, fiscal accountability and sustainable economic development.
