20th August 2021, Skopje – Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi met Nicola Bertolini and Steffen Hudolin, who is to take over the position as Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation. Minister of Finance thanked Bertolini for his so-far engagement, thereby wishing Hudolin success in his new duties.
Topics discussed at the meeting pertained to the priority activities as regards public financial management, as well as the implementation progress of the ongoing projects financed by EU Funds. Minister Besimi stressed that the preparatory activities were launched in the Ministry of Finance, pertaining to the new Public Financial Management Reform Program, which is to cover the upcoming period starting 2022. Thereby, World Bank and IMF assessment of the public expenditures and the financial accountability will be the cornerstone in identifying the future reform priorities as regards the public financial management process. This assessment is financed by EU, SECO and WB.
