17th November 2024, Skopje – Within MoF’s premises on Sunday, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska and Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski held a meeting with Macedonian Banking Association, whereat the point of discussion pertained to making the proceeds under the Hungarian Loan Facility available to the private sector.
“I would say the meeting consisted of three parts. First one pertained to the maturity period, the repayment period and similar. Second part of the meeting was related to the willingness to take part in the process, with the third part covering the interest rate to be paid thereon. Macedonian Banking Association’ will to act in the capacity of banks’ representative is unquestionable as evident from the readiness its representatives demonstrated to be part of the process. As regards the maturity period, we shared a common position and agreed to use the wording of up to 3-year grace period and up to 15-year repayment period given that certain clients of the members thereof vouched for shorter repayment period. I expect for common stance upon this issue to be reached by the end of next week, thus making room for launching the process of applying for and making the proceeds available to the business sector”, Prime Minister Mickoski said in a press release.
