29th December 2024, Skopje – Ministry of Finance issued the 23rd denationalization bonds in the amount of EUR 1.5 million, indemnifying all applicants having effective denationalization decisions adopted in the period from 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023. Total of 108 applicants are thus being indemnified.

Denationalization bonds are registered securities issued by the Ministry of Finance, denominated in euro and unrestrictedly negotiable. Nominal value and 2% interest annually are paid to the applicants once a year in a period of 10 years, i.e. they are paid in 10 equal installments, with the payment for this particular issue commencing on 1st June 2025.   Bond holders can trade the denationalization bond on the secondary market on the Macedonian Stock Exchange.

Pursuant to the Law on Issuance of Denationalization Bonds of the Republic of Macedonia, starting 2002, Ministry of Finance issues denationalization bonds once a year, with the Government determining, under a decision, the amount of the denationalization bonds to be issued.

So far, 22 issues of denationalization bonds have been carried out, totaling EUR 397 million.
