26th December 2024, Skopje – Support to the private sector and implementation of investments are priorities of our operations, with figures being the best indicator thereof. It is expected for the execution of capital expenditures at the end of the year to account for approximately 70% of the projections, which amount will be higher compared to 2022”, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, said, responding to MP’s question posed during today’s parliamentary session.

“The support extended to the private sector in 2025 exceeds Denar 2.5 billion, as opposed to the support of Denar 1.4 billion and Denar 2 billion in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Denar 2.5 billion has also been projected for TIDZ. The figures themselves are the very proof that we do care”, the Minister said, adding that Denar 15 billion has been provided as additional support to the private sector with an interest rate of 1.95%, with the Government having already published the conditions for their use by the companies as final beneficiaries. She also indicated that funds are also being transferred to municipalities, on the basis of projects the implementation of which delivers visible effects.

“I will not allow for the budget transfers to be carried out as before, we are to take a different approach. Funds will be transferred to municipalities upon project implementation. In addition, the funds intended for companies will be transferred to the Development Bank in portions, to be afterwards forwarded to the commercial banks. Only in case of actually implemented investments, we could discuss the transfer of funds”, the Minister pointed out.

She added that VAT is refunded on regular basis, amounting to Denar 2 billion on monthly basis. “Where VAT fraud is detected and an audit is ongoing, VAT refund is not possible”, she stated, highlighting that audits have been initiated as regards other issues as well.
