5th August 2019, Skopje – More than Denar 14.5 billion or EUR 236.4 million was injected in the business sector in the first half of the year, though regular and non-selective VAT refund towards the companies. In line with the data of the Ministry of Finance, VAT refund towards the companies, as of July inclusive, was higher by around 14.5% compared to last year.
Deputy Minister of Finance Shiret Elezi said that regular and non-selective VAT refund provides for improving the liquidity of companies. It is important for the smooth operations of companies, as well as for their investment activity.
-Compared to the previous year, VAT refund to companies was higher by EUR 30 million compared to last year. It is yet another proof that tax revenues experienced higher collection, as well as that liquidity in the budget is solid, whereby all liabilities are timely settled – Deputy Minister of Finance Shiret Elezi said. Positive tendencies in the business sector are also evident from the solid collection of tax revenues, also including VAT collection, being higher by 5.6% on gross basis, compared to last year.
