5th March 2021, Skopje – Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi met representatives of member companies of the Association of Foreign Companies with Technologically Advanced Production under the Foreign Investors Council, headed by its President Viktor Mizo.
Topics covered at this meeting were the key initiatives and proposals about issues related to tax and customs area, being of relevance for improving the operations of companies with technologically advanced production, all to the end of boosting the production and the competitiveness, as well as increasing the attractiveness of the country, thus keeping the existing and attracting new investors.
They also discussed about tax and customs legislation, harmonization of tariff rates, as well as other significant issues of interest to foreign investors.
Some of the requests pertaining to the tax treatment as regards the paid vacation allowance, reduction of the tax balance under the Profit Tax Law and voluntary registration for VAT purposes in any period of the year, have already been accepted, which implementation is expected in the upcoming period.
