13th September 2024, Skopje – Project implementation dynamics, with World Bank’s financial support by was the topic of discussion at the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Finance, Nikolche Jankulovski and the Director of the World Bank to our country, Massimiliano Paolucci.

“At present, there is ongoing implementation of ten projects with the support of the World Bank. We have entered into a useful discussion regarding the dynamics of their implementation, during which we have expressed our interest in putting efforts to accelerate the implementation, while also reaping the benefits therefrom, as soon as possible”, Deputy Minister of Finance said.

He added that sufficient funds were, through the Country’s Partnership Framework with the World Bank, made available to our country, for which efforts will be invested for the sake of strengthened capacities of the institutions, and execution of the respective funds, thus contributing most positively in many areas of our society.

At present, with the World Bank’s support, ten projects are being implemented in the amount of around US Dollars 500 million, aimed at improving social infrastructure, road construction and reconstruction, modernization of agriculture, energy efficiency, reforms in the social sphere, primary education and public administration.

Via the new 2024-2028 Partnership Framework, the country has EUR 695 million at its disposal, geared towards supporting projects, which contribute to the environment improvement in support of creating new and better paid jobs in the private sector, strengthening the resilience to climate changes, as well as reducing the pollution. The World Bank is an avid supporter of our country in implementing substantial reforms leading to society development. So far, 67 projects in the amount of over US Dollar 2.9 billion have been implemented.
