24th September 2024, Skopje – Reform implementation reflects our country’s right path to becoming fully integrated in the EU. EU integration is priority of both the Government and the Ministry of Finance and we are strongly committed to implementing the Growth Plan’s Reform Agenda,
Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, said at today’s meeting with the new EU Ambassador to the country, Michalis Rokas, thereby extending him a warm welcome and successful tenure.
“Progress in implementing the reforms opens opportunities for scaled-up investments and EU funding, also including major infrastructure projects, thus speeding up the process of reducing country’s economic and social disparities in relation to the EU. Therefore, focus will be put on the reforms and the reform agenda for EU accession, as well as ensuring better living conditions and higher standard of living for the citizens”, Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska said.
Point of discussion covered the activities related to the implementation of the Growth Plan, highlighting the adoption of the country’s Reform Agenda by the Government and its submission to the EC, with the next steps expected to follow, as well as the EU approval of the funds aimed at implementing the respective agenda. The Reform Agenda is primarily focused on intensified reform implementation by accelerating the process of approximation of our public sector with the values, the laws, the rules, the standards, the policies and the practice of the EU’s public sector, ensuring its transparent management, development of competitive and green economy and support to the accession process.
Indicating EU as our major partner, the Minister expressed gratitude for the continuous support the EU extends to the country, expecting for it to continue in future as well, aimed at accomplishing our goal – becoming fully-fledged EU Member State.
