10th October 2024, Skopje – Accountable projecting and spending of budget funds collected by taxpayers and providing funds for settling all liabilities at the lowest cost marks the actions the Ministry of Finance took during the first one hundred days since this Government has taken office. All work done in the Ministry of Finance over the first 100 days was announced at the press conference held on Thursday by Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska.
“Over the past 100 days, MoF staff was fully committed to all actions being taken. Hence I may freely express my contentment from all the work done – provided funding for servicing all liabilities by the end of the year and gradual public finance stabilization”, Minister underlined, adding thereby that although they monitored the developments as Opposition Party, when taking power, the encountered state of affairs was more than alarming.
She pointed out the resolution of all open issues owing to the Supplementary Budget, thereby providing for regular and full settlement of liabilities.
As per the Minister, providing funds for covering the budget need under remarkably favorable terms and conditions is also crucial.
“Throughout this 100-day period, we also worked on providing funds under favourable conditions for covering the budget needs, as foreseen under the 2024 Budget, which was realized at the lowest possible cost. Therefore, we decided to provide these funds with a bilateral loan with 3.25% interest rather than by using Eurobond with 6% interest, thus making savings upon interest alone, being worth around EUR 14 million annually. In addition, savings are also made on the basis of the costs related to the loan, amounting to only EUR 70 thousand as opposed to the costs of issuing a Eurobond, which reach up to EUR 1 million,” the Minister said, announcing that the disbursement procedure is in progress.
She stressed that the Government would remain committed to pursuing policies that will provide for a better tomorrow for all citizens.
