17th October 2024, Skopje – Supporting the implementation of real investments is the basis of the concept of the new Government aimed at higher economic growth and living standard, reflected in 2025 Budget as well, which is under preparation, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, said at the first debate of the Platform: 100% dedicated to you.

“Quality and better living standard does not imply only increase of wages, but also advancement in all segments – sound economy and health sector, infrastructure”, the Minister said, adding that the concept used in the past years was based on consumption, with hundreds of million of euros spend, yielding no effect whatsoever. According to the Minister, it all depends on the concept and viewing the matters in their essence and their true form is of vital importance.

“No real investments no growth. When changing the concept, we were considering what could deliver prompt results, hence, on the basis of the analyses, we decided on extending support to the municipalities, since they had already prepared projects, the effect of which would be evident quite rapidly. These are real investments, contributing to GDP growth as well. Investments in the private sector will also have effect thereto, with EUR 250 million from the Hungarian loan facility being envisaged for that purpose”, the Minister said, adding that such model implies higher living standard.

During the debate, she also touched upon the Budget, pointing out that public finances are stable, however, the enforcement decision and interest still pose a burden on the Budget.

Apart from the Minister of Finance, Minister of Economy and Labour, Besar Durmishi, Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minchev, Director of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolovski, Acting Director of the Employment Agency, Seljatin Beljuli, and Head of the Public Administration Reform Department at the Ministry of Public Administration, Esma Adilovikj Fazlikj, also took part in the debate.
