25th October 2024, Skopje – Fiscal consolidation-related efforts put by the new Government are acknowledged by the international financial institutions, extending support thereto, as pointed out by Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, participating in the meetings with IMF and WB top officials, taking place in Washington.
“During these meetings, we stressed that fiscal consolidation cannot take place overnight, since plenty of time is needed therefor. Our willingness and the actions we take is what matters the most, as evident from the harmonized Fiscal Strategy, foreseeing budget deficit reduction to 4%, Minister pointed out in her statement for Alpha TV Channel, thereby underlining that she is particularly pleased that the international financial institutions’ representatives acknowledged the maximum efforts put by both, her, as Minister of Finance and the new Government, all to the end of improving the overall country’s performance.
She expressed her assurance that excellent cooperation is ahead of us in the upcoming period, while taking all steps for pursuing gradual fiscal consolidation, prudent spending of budge funds, as well as combatting informal economy.
Minister of Finance participates at the Annual IMF/WB Meetings, taking place in Washington, where she had meetings with the top officials from these international financial institutions.
