7th May 2025, Skopje – During her official visit to Türkiye, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska delivered the opening address at the 28th Eurasian Economic Summit, organized by Marmara Group Foundation, whereat she highlighted that by fostering joint ideas, initiatives, and cooperation, we could address the challenges lying ahead for all of us.

“The passing years, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, have brought about a new reality and created many challenges that we are still facing. The war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, the inflation, the changing conditions on the financial markets and current tariff policies are global uncertainties impacting us all, to varying degrees. The efforts and energy we invest in mitigating them, however, vary as well. Some ride the waves with ease, while others face more challenges. However, together, we can achieve so much more” – Minister said.

She went on that Macedonia, as a small and open economy is highly susceptible to the global developments-particularly those in Europe. Therefore, Government’s policies are in support of the domestic economy, yielding results over the short term, all to the end of cushioning the blow from these external shocks and boosting its competitiveness.

She further noted that our country maintains friendly relationship with Türkiye, recognizing it as a strong ally in supporting the reforms we undertake, which will fast-track our journey towards sustainable prosperity.

Minister Dimitrieska-Kochsoka will take part at the panel-discussion within the Eurasian Economic Summit covering the topic: “where do we stand now and where do we aspire to be? Challenges at home and in Europe – path to a successful future“.

This year’s Marmara Group Foundation Summit, themed „A More Humane World“, will bring together Euro-Asian leaders to discuss pressing issues such as the environment, economy, energy, artificial intelligence, international cooperation in the health sector, and more.
