Ministry of Finance paid Denar 599.6 million as subsidies to 18,248 farmers on several bases.
As regards produced and sold tobacco from 2013 harvest, Denar 398.5 million was paid to 13,056 tobacco growers. Financial support for this measure amounts to Denar 60 per kilogram produced and sold tobacco.
With respect to agricultural crops, Denar 60 million was paid as subsidies to 1,665 farmers. Financial support per hectare arable agricultural land for agricultural crops amounts to Denar 9,000. Denar 8,2 million was paid for market gardening in open-air fields and under hothouses to 368 gardeners. Subsidies for this measure amount from Denar 6,000 to Denar 25,000 per hectare.
Denar 6.7 million was paid to 129 fruit-growers for maintenance of existing fruit plantations. Subsidies for this measure amount from Denar 15,000 to Denar 33,000 per hectare.
Denar 18 million was paid to 231 vine-growers for maintenance of existing vine plantations. Financial support the vine-growers are awarded for this measure amounts to Denar 40 thousand per hectare.
Subsidies in the amount of Denar 38.3 million were paid to total of 1,735 stock-breeders for breeding cattle, whereby the subsidy amounts to Denar 2.800 per head.
Denar 40.6 million was paid as subsidies for breeding sheep to 238 stock-breeders. Financial support for breeding sheep amounts to Denar 1,000 per head.
Denar 1,000 per head, or total of Denar 4 million was also paid to 98 stock-breeders for breeding goats.
At the same time, Denar 1,000 per head, or total of Denar 1.7 million was also paid to 58 stock-breeders for breeding sows. Subsidies in the amount of Denar 3.5 million for produced and sold cow’s, sheep and goat’s milk were paid, whereby the financial support amounted to Denar 3.5 per liter.
Ministry of Finance also paid Denar 6.3 million as subsidies to 670 farmers for insuring the primary agricultural production. Amount of the support accounted for 60% of the value of the insurance policy. Government, by regularly paying subsidies to farmers, remains committed to supporting the agriculture, which is one of the driving branches of Macedonian economy.
