Skopje, 30th January 2015 (MIA) – Government and public debt reduced by EUR 93.3 million and EUR 62.7 million respectively in the fourth quarter in 2014.

According to the information announced by the Ministry of Finance today, government debt amounts to EUR 3,262.5 million, accounting for 38.1% of GDP, or, compared to the previous quarter, it dropped by 1.1 percentage point.

On 31st December 2014, public debt amounted to EUR 3,921.3 million, accounting for 45.8% of GDP, and, compared to the previous quarter, it declined by 0.7 percentage points.

As Ministry of Finance announced, reduction of the debt is due to the decreased borrowing through government securities by EUR 74.1 million and regular servicing of the external debt in the amount of EUR 88.9 million.
