31st October 2017, Skopje – the World Bank ranks Macedonia in the 2018 Doing Business Report at the 11th position worldwide, i.e .at the 6th place in Europe according to the doing  business conditions among 190 countries.

At global level New Zealand, Singapore, Denmark, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, the USA, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Georgia and Sweden are ahead of Macedonia.

Macedonia is ranked as the best country in the region for doing  business before Slovenia, Kosovo,  Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey, Albany, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As for the Report, Macedonia is indicated as one of the countries continuously working on improving the business climate. i.e. since 2003 until now, 41 reforms aimed at improving the business climate have been realized.

Macedonia was best-ranked for the Protecting Minority Investors Indicator, being positioned at the 4th place in the world.  High rank was also noticed at the Getting Credit Indicator, where Macedonia takes up the 12th place in the world.

World Bank’s ranking is carried out for the period 1st June 2016 – 1st June 2017, being based upon information obtained from the government institutions and the private sector.
