18th December 2017, Strumica – Construction of water treatment station in Strumica has been completed. This is a Project worth EUR 6.9 million which is to provide for treatment of waste water in the Strumica River. Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, worked intensively on preparation of the project documentation in the past several years.
The Project is financed through the 2007 – 2013 Regional Development Operational Program and is part of the portfolio of financed projects in the field of environment protection and transport. 71 projects were realized within this Program. Total funds amounted to EUR 369 million, EUR 168 million out of which as IPA funds, while the remaining as state budget funds.
The Project closing ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Finance, Dragan Tevdovski, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Sadulla Duraki, as well as the EU Ambassador to Macedonia, Samuel Žbogar.
