Sveti Nikole, 21st September 2015 (MIA) – By constructing Skopje-Stip highway, only 20 minutes will be needed to arrive from Sveti Nikole to Skopje, thus contributing to business climate improvement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said, while visiting Sveti Nikole on Monday.

Following the meetings where he was informed about the extent to which the Government active measures related to employment and cheap credit lines have been used by the companies so far, Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski pointed out that the Government always listens to the requests of the citizens, and depending on the possibilities, resolves their problems.

The route from Skopje- Sveti Nikole- Stip highway has been already 90% breached, and it is envisaged for the construction to be completed by February 2017 at the latest. Thus, Sveti Nikole citizens will need from 20 to 25 minutes to arrive in Skopje. By constructing this highway, Sveti Nikole may be put on the map of destinations attractive for foreign investors since it will be both well set-up and connected in terms of infrastructure, being significant for investors, Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski said.

He visited the factory for confectionery products Lion DOO, having 116 employees, 16 persons out of which were employed through the Government’s measures under the “Macedonia Employs” Project.

We have been cooperating with the business sector for nine years already. We are a Government that meets the requests of the businessmen, helping them to improve their business. I am a witness today that 11 companies from Sveti Nikole have used the cheap credit lines in the total amount of EUR 2.5 million. This is a significant number and I may say that 95 persons have been employed in this municipality, through “Macedonia Employs” Project- Stavreski said.

As regards the factory for confectionery products “Lion”, Stavreski was informed that more than 70% of the production is aimed at import, while more than 40 persons of the total employees are disabled.
