Skopje, 28th November 2014 (MIA) – We have provided additional EUR 42 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The funds are already approved for construction of Gradsko-Prilep Section, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, said during today’s visit to Prilep.
According to Stavreski, construction of Gradsko-Prilep Section, which covers the part of the road at Faris and Drenovo Gorge which is in the poorest condition, will commence next year.
– Process of expropriation will be on-going in the next 5-6 months, and the contract notice for construction will be published immediately afterwards. We expect for the construction of this Section to commence at the end of the summer and the beginning of the autumn 2015. Two lanes in both directions, 12 m wide, will be built. One part will be expanded, while completely new road section will be built on the part of the road which is in the poorest condition, Stavreski said.
Citizens and businessmen, as he pointed out, gain a lot, among which faster connection to Skopje.
– Prilep will be better connected with the highway, Corridor 10, while the citizens and the businessmen will be able to come to Skopje for a shorter period of time, Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski said.
He expects for this Section, the construction of which will start next year, to be completed in 24 months.
