Elections ended and now it is time to get down to business since it is the only thing that can improve the living conditions of citizens. Therefore, Friday in Rosoman, we loaded and sent the first trunk with peaches to Russia, par of the total package, which will exceed EUR 1 million this year, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said during his visit of the enterprise “Dusan Kiric” in Rosoman.

He emphasized that this type of cooperation between the Government and the private sector helps farmers to find better promotion of their products.

– Export of agricultural products to Russia remarkably increased in the recent years. Export of agricultural products to Russia experienced seven-fold increase in the first 4 months of this year. Last year, agricultural products worth over EUR 5 million were exported from Macedonia, mainly apples from Resen region and cabbage from Strumica region and now we also start exporting peaches from the surroundings of Rosoman, Stavreski pointed out.

According to Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, export to Russia increases as a result of the good work of the Macedonian Ambassador to Russia, helping in concluding contracts between Macedonian businessmen there and businessmen from Macedonia, thus providing for smooth purchase of the peaches and the other agricultural products.

– I expect for this increase of export of fruit and vegetables from Macedonia to continue in future as well. Russian market is huge and we should take advantage of this potential in the best possible manner. There is no reason not to achieve an export worth up to EUR ten or so million annually to the Russian market at least, as well as to all other markets of the Former Soviet Union, Stavreski said.(MIA)
