Skopje, 1st November 2013 (MIA) – By keeping the lowest taxes in Europe and sound business climate, Macedonia will continue to be exceptionally attractive to investors, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski believes.
– The story about foreign investments in Macedonia is a successful one since the improvement of the business climate is evident. For many years in a row, we are among the best reformers in the world, i.e. among the 10 top reformers in the world, having ambitious plan for presenting the investment opportunities to investors in Europe and other continents so as to attract them in our country, being a relatively small one and where, the investors perhaps did not show prior interest to invest in, Vice Prime Minister said, answering journalist’s question following the Conference at the occasion of celebrating the Insurance Day.
He went on that from year to year global companies and brands arrive in Macedonia for the first time, opening not only one but several factories.
– These factories are not only opened in Skopje but also in the interior and from that aspect, it is important for us to continue to put such efforts aimed at increasing the level of foreign investments and creating jobs in all towns in Macedonia as it was the case with Kavadarci and Bitola.
According to data of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, foreign investments in the country amount to EUR 157.3 million as of August inclusive.
