Skopje, 29th October 2013 (MIA) – Government is satisfied with the newest ranking of Macedonia among the 10 top reformers in the world in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report. He believes that the report is objective, showing that the overall business climate in the Republic of Macedonia is at high level.
– For the fourth time in the seven-year term of office of this Government, Republic of Macedonia is on the list of top 10 reformers in the world, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said at today’s press conference.
Republic of Macedonia is ranked at the fifth position in the newest Report, out of 50 countries in total, which until today, have most closely reached the best performance, by implementing 31 reforms in total.
He went on that the Republic of Macedonia is in the group of 5 countries, which implemented the most numerous reforms, thus significantly improving its rank in the past period.
– Republic of Macedonia is the best in Southeastern Europe. We are better ranked than all neigbouring countries, as well as than the 19 EU Member States. We are better than Slovenia, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Greece and Bulgaria Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski pointed out.
World Bank noted progress in six areas following the implemented reforms, such as dealing with construction permits, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes and getting electricity.
Areas, in which additional measures should be undertaken, are the indicators starting a business, paying taxes and trading across borders.
