Skopje, 26th November 2012 (MIA) – “Saharaya Macedonia” Project of the Indian multi-billionaire Subrata Roy on the Ohrid Lake will create thousands of jobs, to extend the tourist season through out the whole year, to bring tens of thousands of tourists, stimulate turnover of local shops, all catering and other services, contribute to GDP, as well as foreign exchange inflows for the local population.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, pointed out today at the session of Parliamentary Commission on Financing and Budget as regards the project of the Indian Group “Sahara group” at the Ohrid Lake.
Indian company submitted the proposal for project realization to the Government last week, following several-month preparations.
Tourist complex project, which will cover 240 ha, is of one of the largest companies in the world, British “Atkins”, envisaging construction of a tourist complex containing facilities for rest and recreation, golf courses, spa centers, marina-hotels, entertainment facilities, casinos on water, … There is a complete ecological/eco-friendly study.
“Atkins” company, as Minister Stavreski said, have the highest level of guarantee that ecological aspects of the Ohrid Lake will be protected and preserved much more that we preserve them.
