Skopje, 2nd July 2012 (MIA) – Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski will co-chair the 6th session of the Macedonian – Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation to be held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, on 2-3 July.

Focus will be placed on energy sector, progress in negotiations on Macedonia’s joining the “South Stream” and settlement of clearing debt with Russia through the Project “Gasification of the Republic of Macedonia”.

As Ministry of Finance announced, the Commission will also discuss possibilities and perspectives for development of trade and economic cooperation between Republic of Macedonia and the Russian Federation, as well as cooperation in the field of industry, transport, agriculture, education, science and tourism.

Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Maxim Travnikov, is co-chairing the Commission on the part of the Russian Federation.

Last session of the Commission took place in October last year in Ohrid.
