Washington, 8th October (MIA) – Macedonian delegation headed by Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski together with Vice Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski and Deputy Minister of Economy Metodij Hagi-Vasilev will take part in the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington to be held from 8th October to 10th October.
It is envisaged for Vice Prime Minister Stavreski to meet IMF Executive Director Mr. Age F.P. Bakker, IMF Mission Chief for Macedonia Wes McGrew, World Bank Vice President Philip Le Houerou and Country Director and Regional Coordinator for Southwest Europe Jane Armitage, as well as high IMF and World Bank officials, Naoyuki Shinohara and Ruud Treffers.
Talks will be focused on the current and future cooperation of Macedonia with both institutions. Autumn meetings of the IMF and the World Bank are held every year. They are attended by Ministers of Finance and Governors of the Central Banks of the member states, discussing about the current developments in the global economy, as well as issues such as poverty reduction and encouraging economic growth.
