Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, together with the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi, met with Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Betel, within the working visit to this country.
During the meeting, Prime Minister underlined that Luxembourg, as one of the most vigorous supporters of EU enlargement, is a close partner to North Macedonia and a strong advocate in the European Commission for the country’s start of the EU negotiations.
Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zaev assessed as upright the Luxembourg position on the Bulgarian veto as an issue which is not debatable since identity issues arise from the right to self-determination.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Betel pointed out that North Macedonia deserves its place in the EU taking into account all bold decisions made by his counterpart Zaev and North Macedonia. He invited Prime Minister Zaev to take a walk around the city and discuss the rest of the issues of interest for both countries, such as enhancing the economic cooperation and the possibilities for foreign direct investments by Luxembourg companies to North Macedonia.
