2nd October 2021, Skopje – US Government provides significant support to the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in implementing activities geared towards economic growth, stability and strengthening the democratic practice and institutions. Two signed amendments to the Development Partnership Grant Agreement speak in favour thereof, with the incremental addition of funds for this year amounting to US$ 3.5 million. Amendments to the Agreement were signed by the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi.

USAID Development Partnership Grant Agreement was signed on 6th May 2021, amounting to US$ 8.3 million. By signing the both amendments to the Agreement, the additional increment amounts to US$ 3.5 million, i.e. the total funds under the Agreement amount to US$ 11.8 million this year. The funds are intended for strengthening the economic competitiveness and combating corruption.

Development Partnership Grant Agreement is in line with the 2020-2025 Country Development Cooperation Strategy , envisaging total of US$ 56.6 million. The funds are intended for the three development objectives through which USAID helps North Macedonia in its leading role in accomplishing its development, as the newest ally and 30th NATO member country, as well as at launching the EU accession negotiations.

So far, USA, through USAID, has invested over US$ 833 million in development objectives.
