23rd August 2023, Skopje – Wind Park Miravci, both photovoltaic power stations in the vicinity of TPP Bitola, Modernization and Upgrading of Complex Energetika and Solar District Heating Bitola are the projects КfW demonstrated interest in, in view of providing support for their implementation in our country. Ongoing project portfolio and the future cooperation with KfW were the points of discussion at the meeting held between Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi and the Director at KfW Development Bank and currently Head of the Department South East Europe and Türkiye Klaus Mueller. At the moment, KfW is financing projects worth almost EUR 200 million.

During the meeting, Minister of Finance expressed gratitude about the support KfW extends to our country, covering the following projects: Irrigation Programme of North Macedonia, amounting to EUR 80 million, Renewable Energy Program ESM – Component 1: Rehabilitation of Hydropower Plants, worth EUR 25 million, the second phase of Wind Park Bogdanci with EUR 18 million as a support therefor, District Heating System Bitola, Energy Efficient Rehabilitation of Student Dormitories in North Macedonia, amounting to EUR 20 million and similar.

“The support KfW extends to our country is extremely important, in particular the ongoing support in the energy sector, which we expect to be even more intensified in future”, Minister Besimi pointed out.

KfW representatives also welcomed the so-far cooperation, thereby expressing their interest in its continuation, particularly as regards the energy and the sustainable energy sources.
