30th July 2024, Skopje – Under 2024 Supplementary Budget funds are being provided for payment of public sector employees’ wages, whereby all employee rights per law and signed collective agreements will be observed, Deputy Minister of Finance, Nikolche Jankulovski, said at the parliamentarian Financing and Budget Commission, with an amendment debate on Draft 2024 Supplementary Budget being in session right now.
“Around Denar 1 billion under the draft Supplementary Budget has been allocated to different budget users in order to adjust the minimum wage of both the employees having received a wage below the new minimum wage (approximately 6.000 employees) and the employees, having the minimum wage as a component of the basic wage. This concerns around 24 thousand administrative servants, court and prosecuting officers, prison officers, parliamentarian officers, employees in kindergartens, old people’s homes and children’s holiday resorts, employees in cultural institutions”, Deputy Minister highlighted.
Under the Supplementary Budget, Denar 80 million has also been provided for the foreseen wage increase of public sector employees starting September 2024, an obligation stemming from the General Collective Agreement.
As pointed out, additional funds for vacation allowance amounting to Denar 11,000 per employee for the budget users’ employees have been provided in accordance with the General Collective Agreement for public sector employees.
