12th November 2024, Skopje – Public Finance Academy, a department within the Ministry of Finance, held a training on the topic of “Internal Audit (basic level)”. The training is part of the Annual Training Plan 2024, with the participants being introduced the key aspects of the legal and the regulatory framework on internal audit, as well as the basic principles and methodologies for conducting it.
Steps and procedures for planning and conducting internal audit, as well as methods of preparing audit reports and recommendations to improve the working process, were in the focus of the training, including practical examples on identifying and analyzing the risks in various administrative processes.
By presenting case studies, the participants were given the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, while interactive sessions spurred discussions, making room for exchange of experience and resolving specific issues in the relevant area.
Participants attending the training were employees in state administration bodies, working in internal audit organizational units and being beginners in the respective field. By actively participating in the training, they had the opportunity to advance their understanding of internal audit, as a key process in enhancing public institutions’ transparency and efficiency.
Objective of the trainings carried out by the Academy is to create a modern, professional and highly-trained public administration, thus enabling the public institutions to render quality and prompt services, adjusted to the needs of both the citizens and the businesses, at the same time raising the level of accountability and enhancing the trust in the public sector. Ministry of Finance, via the Public Finance Academy, will carry on investing in continuous development of the public sector capacities, adhering to the latest European and international trends and standards.
