Skopje, 20th December 2012 (MIA) – To the end of adopting the Budget, and given that the work of the Financing and Budget Commission and the Legislative Committee is blocked, today I gave positive written statement accepting 44 amendments, 33 out of which were submitted by SDSM, six by MP Izet Beqiri and five by DPA, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski said at the press-conference in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.

He added that 44 amendments were in the total amount of Denar 191 million, Denar 154 out of which for the amendments submitted by SDSM, and Denar 18.5 million for those submitted by MP Zeqiri and DPA.

– This is the largest number of amendments accepted by a Minister of Finance when adopting the Budget in the last 20 years, both in number and amount of funds. This shows our wish for compromise, Stavreski said.

He added that he believes he will come across an understanding at the opposition and that possibility for accelerating the procedure and adopting the Budget will be launched.

Answering journalist’s question, he pointed out that the coordination is still ongoing and that as a result, he cannot comment whether this is acceptable or not for the opposition, thereby appealing for they to be constructive and reasonable so as to reach compromise.
