Citizens will have the opportunity to purchase the courtyard land from the state at the price of one euro per square meter by 27th January next year. Following this period, they will have to conclude lease agreement therewith.
 
In order to encourage citizens to use this opportunity in the period to come, Ministry of Finance started campaign so as to inform them on the possibilities through printed media, national and local television stations, as well as through radio stations. This is the first campaign being carried out in this field. It is EUR 250 thousand worth, being carried out by “Republika”, selected under public announcement.
 
The goal, as Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said during a meeting with the journalists, is to raise the attention of citizens to using this opportunity to purchase the land at affordable price of one euro, by 27th January, when the legally set deadline for purchase of courtyard land expires.
 
So far, there have been 80,000 submitted requests for purchase of courtyard land, анд 20.000 from them are beeing submited since the reform started. Minister expects for this number to increase in the next months, while the campaign is being carried out.
 
It is expected for at least another 30,000 to 40,000 requests to arrive if all citizens want to use this opportunity.
 
Minister Stavreski beleives that the purchase of courtyard land is much more payable alternative than paying lease.
 
According to him, there will be no extension of the deadline for purchase of courtyard land after 27th January 2011.
 
So as for citizens to be informed, meetings with certain populated areas will be also organized.
