Skopje, 21st November 2014 (MIA) – Suto Orizari Municipality finally solved the decades-long problem related to water supply through the World Bank’s Municipal Services Improvement Project.

Denar 242 million or around four milion euros were provided for this purpose.  Some of the funds are provided from the City of Skopje and Suto Orizari Municipality, while Denar 106 million was provided through the Public Utility Enterprise “Vododod”.  

Agreement was signed on Friday in the Ministry of Finance by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski and the Mayors of the City of Skopje and Suto Orizari Municipality, Koce Trajanovski and Elvis Bajram.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski, it is a matter of an essential need of around 22 thousands of inhabitants from Suto Orizari and some of the inhabitants from Skopje Sever who will obtain clean water for their needs.

– A decade-long problem in Suto Orizari Municipality will be solved, frequent restrictions and shortage of water for several hours in the summer periods was a sign for all of us leading the country that something had to be done.  The City of Skopje, Suto Orizari Municipality, the Public Utility Enterprise and the Ministry of Finance found solution for this problem, Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski stressed.
