In 2010, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to invest in many projects in Macedonia worth up to EUR 150 million.

This was announced today by Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, who hosted EBRD delegation.

According to Stavreski, EBRD representatives expressed their preparedness to finance projects in Macedonia worth between EUR 100 – 500 million, mainly in the field of infrastructure, energy sector and gasification.

“They have already expressed preparedness to finance the repair of Corridor 10 railroad tracks in the amount of EUR 18 million, and we have also raised the issue of possible support to the construction of Corridor 8 railroad tracks”, Stavreski said.

He said that EBRD once again acknowledged the support it continuously extends to Macedonia, expressing the contentment with the implemented reforms.

“This speaks in favour of the acknowledgement by this international institution that reforms in Macedonia are on the positive track, macroeconomic policies are solid, as well as that goods results have been achieved despite the global financial crisis”, Stavreski said.(Makfax)
